Guttenberg City Zoning Code

No building or structure in any district shall be erected, enlarged or structurally altered without a Building Permit duly issued, upon application, by the Enforcing Officer. No Building Permit shall be issued by the Enforcing Officer except in conformance with the provisions of this chapter or unless he is directed to issue same under written order from the Zoning Board of Adjustment in the form of a variance special permit or administrative review as provided by this chapter.

A building permit shall be required for the erection, reconstruction, or modification of any fence, shed, or accessory structure on a property. A property owner may repair an existing shed or fence that predates the adoption of this paragraph, or which was properly permitted by this chapter without further approval so long as the fence does not change its course, location, or height, or any repairs to the shed which do not impact the structural integrity of the shed.
