12 - ZONING DISTRICTS AND MAP
For the purposes of this title the city as designated in Section 23.06.006 and the surrounding land as designated in Section 23.06.008 is divided into the following zone and use districts or groups of use districts:

A agricultural district
(2)
"R" residence districts
R-O large lot residential district
R-1 one family residential district
R-2 one family residential district
R-3 one and two family and townhouse residential district
R-4 multiple family residential district
R-5 multiple family residential district
R-6 mobile home/manufactured home district
R-7 urban/rural residential district

"B" business districts
B-1 limited business district
B-2 central business district
B-3 general business district
(4)
"I" industrial
I-1 limited industrial district
I-2 general industrial district
(5)
"M" medical
MF medical facilities district

Reference in this title to A district shall include the A-R district and R districts shall include R-O, R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4, R-5, R-6 and R-7 districts; reference in this title to B districts shall include B-1, B-2 and B-3 districts; reference in this title to I districts shall include I-1 and I-2 districts; reference in this title to M districts shall include MF.

The boundaries of the districts set forth in Section 23.12.002 are established as shown on the current "City of Huron Zoning Map" which is properly updated and filed in the city planning office, hereinafter referred to as the "map."

The zoning map and all of the notations, references and other information shown thereof shall have the same force and effect as if fully set down herein and are made a part of this title by reference and incorporated herein as fully as if set forth herein at length.

District boundary lines as indicated on the zoning map follow lot lines, the centerline of streets or alleys, the centerlines of street or alleys projected, the center of watercourses or the corporate limit lines, all as they exist upon the effective date of the ordinance codified in this title. If district boundary lines do not follow any of the above described lines, the district boundary lines are established as drawn on the zoning catalog, except where a district boundary line divides a lot of record which was in single ownership July 19, 1971 and places portions of such lot of record in two or more use districts, any portion of such lot within fifty feet in either side of such a dividing district boundary line may be used for any use of either use district; provided, however, if any portion of such lot shall extend beyond the fifty foot limitation, the district line as shown shall prevail.

Administrator's determination and questions of doubt concerning the exact location of district boundary lines shall be heard by the board of adjustments.

Whenever any street, alley or other public way is vacated by official action of the city, the zoning district abutting the centerline of the alley or public way shall not be affected by such proceeding and the vacated portion of any street, alley or other public way shall assume the same zoning classification as the abutting district and established at the centerline of any vacated public right-of-way.
