52 F-R FOREST RECREATION DISTRICT
§ 18.52.010 Intent.
The F-R district is intended to be an area of low density, transitory use. It is designed to provide forest recreation and outdoor experiences for county residents and tourists at the same time providing protection of natural resources under private ownership, e.g., wildlife habitat, watershed maintenance, viewshed, minimize fire hazards, and scenic resources. These are areas where public services are not available and are not to be provided on a year-round basis.

§ 18.52.020 Applicability.
The regulations in this chapter shall apply to all F-R districts and shall be subject to Chapters 18.102 through 18.108 of this title.

§ 18.52.030 Uses allowed by right.
Uses allowed by right in a F-R district shall be as follows:
(1)
Hunting, fishing, campgrounds, outdoor camps, which involve the construction of no permanent structures for human habitation or shelter;
(2)
Logging operations, timber harvest, portable sawmills and chippers;
(3)
Pack stations;
(4)
Hydroelectric power plants of five megawatts or less.

§ 18.52.040 Uses allowed by use permit.
Uses allowed by use permit in a F-R district shall be as follows:
(1)
Commercial recreation uses like guest ranches, youth camps and similar outdoor-oriented uses where permanent structures and facilities would be necessary;
(2)
Vacation cottages and cabins; provided, that as a condition of the use permit it shall be specified that the structures or buildings shall not be occupied as a permanent residence.

§ 18.52.050 Development standards.
Development standards in a F-R district shall be as follows:
(1)
Minimum parcel size, thirty-five acres;
(2)
No structure, building, edifice or use shall impede or block a public right-of-way.
