HOME OCCUPATIONS

§ 153.374.- CONDITIONS.

Customary home occupations shall be allowed, if they meet the following conditions:

(A)

The occupation is carried on in the principal building;

(B)

Not more than 25 percent of the gross floor area of the residence is used for this purpose;

(C)

Only articles made or originated on the premises shall be sold on the premises unless the articles are incidental to a permitted commercial service;

(D)

No articles for sale shall be displayed so as to be visible from any street;

(E)

No person is employed other than a member of the household residing on the premises;

(F)

No mechanical or electrical equipment is used if the operation of the equipment interferes unreasonably with the desired quiet residential environment of the neighborhood or if the health and safety of the residents is endangered;

(G)

The occupations does not generate more than two vehicles at one time; and

(H)

A person having a home occupation shall provide proof of meeting the above seven requirements if complaints are received by the City Council.

§ 153.375. - RETAIL SALE.

Retail sales home occupations allowing retail sales or employment of persons other than the members of the household residing on the premises may be permitted by conditional use permit if the following conditions are met:

(A)

The occupations is carried on in the principal building;

(B)

Not more than 25 percent of the gross floor area of the residence is used for its purpose;

(C)

No articles for sale shall be displayed so as to be visible from any street;

(D)

No mechanical or electrical equipment is used if the operation of the equipment interferes unreasonably with the desired residential environment of the neighborhood or if the health and safety of the residents is endangered;

(E)

The occupation does not generate more than two vehicles at one time; and

(F)

The occupation must provide off-street parking.
