The effective date of this ordinance shall be from and after its passage and legal application, and its provisions shall be in force thereafter until repealed.

It is hereby declared to be the intention of the city council that the sections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses and phrases of this code are severable, and if any phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section of this code shall be declared unconstitutional or invalid by the valid judgement or decree of a court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect any of the remaining phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs and sections of this code, since the same would have been enacted by the city council without the incorporation in this code of any such unconstitutional phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph or section.

All conflicting ordinances or parts thereof which are inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

(3-2)

This zoning ordinance of the City of Covington shall be effective at and after February 15, 1983, and any portion of any other ordinance in conflict with the ordinance is hereby repealed.

A certified copy of the foregoing zoning ordinance of Covington, Virginia, shall be filed in the office of the zoning administrator and in the office of the clerk of city council.
