CHAPTER 17

52 - A AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT

17.52.010 - Purpose.

The purpose of the A district is to provide suitable areas for exclusive agricultural use, to conserve good farming areas, preventing the uncontrolled spread of development and secure economy in the provision of public services.

17.52.020 - Permitted uses (principal).

A.

Farming, provided that buildings in which farm animals are kept shall be at least one hundred (100) feet from the nearest residential district;

B.

Any principal use permitted in the RS district;

C.

Stands for the sale of agricultural products produced on the premises;

D.

Nurseries and greenhouses;

E.

Cemeteries.

17.52.030 - Permitted uses (accessory).

A.

Farm buildings;

B.

Any accessory use permitted in RS district;

C.

Columbaria;

D.

Mausoleum.

17.52.040 - Special uses (special use permit required).

A.

Any special use permitted in RS district;

B.

Water towers, sewage treatment facilities and power plants;

C.

Golf courses and country clubs;

D.

Excavation and commercial removal of sand, gravel and other minerals;

E.

Airports.

17.52.050 - Height, area and setback requirements.

A.

No parcel shall be less than thirty-five (35) acres.

B.

Parcels of record less than thirty-five (35) acres may be used for agricultural purposes.

C.

Building requirements shall not be less than those provided for in the RS district.
