72 - P PUBLIC LANDS AND INSTITUTIONS
Sections:
The intent of this district is to provide for major public and quasi-public uses outside of other districts. Not all public and quasi-public uses need be classified Zone P. Some may fit within other districts; however, the larger areas should be designated Zone P.

Accessory uses or buildings;
2.
Campgrounds;
3.
Cemeteries;
4.
Civic events;
5.
Fairgrounds, including temporary special and commercial uses;
6.
Museums, zoos, historic and cultural exhibits;
7.
Open space;
8.
Picnic areas;
9.
Publicly owned or government operated buildings and uses;
10.
Public and nonprofit quasi-public institutions;
11.
Public schools;
12.
Publicly-owned land used for parks and playgrounds;
13.
Temporary buildings used for and during construction;
14.
Temporary special uses;
15.
Temporary special uses require an application and permit from the city.

The entire lot, exclusive of required yards and parking, may be occupied by the principal and accessory buildings.

No requirement except when a lot is adjacent to another district. The yards then shall be the same as the adjacent district.

Maximum building height in this district shall be forty-eight (48) feet.

Off-street parking for this district shall be provided in accordance with Chapter 17.92.

The following uses may be permitted as conditional uses in the P public lands district:

Golf courses;

Sand and gravel excavation;
3.
Transportation stations;
4.
Public utilities;
5.
Wireless communication facilities.
Note: A conditional use permit is also required for any use change proposed within the Superfund overlay district of this zone.
