CHAPTER 17

B-2 MEDIUM-DENSITY BUSINESS DISTRICT

10-17-1: GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The B-2 Business District is intended to provide for a more intensive variety of retail goods and services compared to the B-1 District. (Ord. 18-08, 6-3-2019)

10-17-2: PERMITTED PRINCIPAL USES:

Any use or structure permitted and as regulated in the B-1 District, of this title, except as hereinafter modified.
Bank (drive-through).
Bar.
Bus terminal.
Business or trade school.
Ceramic manufacturing (for sale on premises).
Church.
Commercial parking lot.
Custom rental.
Department store.
Drapery manufacturing (for sale on premises).
Dry cleaning shop.
Employment agency.
Funeral home.
Furniture upholstering shop only when operated in conjunction with a retail business on the premises.
Greenhouses with no outdoor storage.
Hotel.
Meat market.
Medical and dental laboratories.
Meeting hall, club and fraternal organization.
Microbrewery.
Mirror and glazing shop, glass cutting.
Motel.
Motor fuel stations subject to the conditions stipulated in chapter 4, "General Provisions", of this title.
Music and dancing studio.
Nursing home.
Pawn shop.
Pet shops.
Plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning supply stores or show rooms without outdoor sales or storage of materials and without repairs or fabrication.
Printing, blue-printing, publishing, engraving or lithographing shop.
Public parking lot, public parking garage, customer and other accessory parking area, subject to applicable provisions in this title.
Radio, television and CATV stations, not transmitting towers, subject to applicable provisions in this title.
Restaurant (drive-through).
Self-service laundry.
Theater.
Veterinarian clinics (without indoor or outdoor kennels).
Any other use determined by the Board of Zoning Appeals to be of the same general character as the foregoing permitted uses. (Ord. 18-08, 6-3-2019)

10-17-3: PERMITTED ACCESSORY USES:

Assembly of small electrical appliances, instruments, small computers and other electronic devices.
B-1 Neighborhood Business District accessory uses.
Other accessory uses customarily incidental to a B-2 permitted principal use, including signs as regulated by City ordinance and State Statutes, whichever is more restrictive. (Ord. 18-08, 6-3-2019)

10-17-4: WHEN AUTHORIZED BY BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS:

Any use permitted on review in a B-1 District.
Dance hall, bar or cocktail lounge, nightclub and similar enterprises.
Transmission and receiving equipment for radio, television, cable, and telephone.
Any other similar uses deemed to be consistent by the Board of Zoning Appeals. (Ord. 18-08, 6-3-2019)

10-17-5: LOT REQUIREMENTS:

The following minimum requirements shall be observed, subject to chapter 28, "Additional Requirements, Exceptions And Modifications", of this title.

10-17-6: PROHIBITED USES:

Major auto repair, auto salvage and wrecking operations, and industrial metal and waste salvage operations and junkyards.
