Purpose. the purpose of the bioscience overlay is to promote a cluster of sites for bioscience research and biotechnology uses within the Town, as part of a larger cluster of sites located throughout various municipalities and the northern portion of Palm Beach County, all in accordance with the Bioscience Land Advisory Protection Board interlocal agreement of which the Town of Mangonia Park is a member participant.

Bioscience uses. The Schedule of District Regulations in Section 9 of the Town's zoning ordinance sets forth the uses which qualify as bioscience uses. It is the Town's policy to encourage bioscience and biotechnology uses within the bioscience overlay through expedited review and permitting processes.

Prohibited uses. Residential uses are prohibited in the bioscience overlay. It is the Town's policy to deter the conversion of uses within the bioscience overlay to residential uses. In order to convert uses within the bioscience overlay to residential use, the concurring vote of no less than four (4) members of the Town Council is required. Further, any proposal to convert uses within the bioscience overlay to residential use must be presented to the Bioscience Land Protection Advisory Board for analysis and recommendation prior to action being taken by the Town Council.

Site regulations. The site regulations for the underlying zoning district shall govern the development of land within the bioscience overlay.
