(a)

An annexation request shall be reviewed against the criteria for planned unit development approval specified in section 26-18-5, to the extent that such criteria are relevant to the proposed annexation and may be used to guide the planning commission's and city council's discretion in reviewing a proposed annexation.

(b)

All territory annexed to the city subsequent to the effective date of this chapter shall be zoned according to district classifications of this chapter. Such classification shall be determined through the standard rezoning process. The proposed zoning shall be established in accordance with applicable state statutes and this chapter.
