52 GB GENERAL BUSINESS DISTRICT

13.52.010 Description

The GB General Business District is primarily characterized by an environment of a wide variety of retail business and services that serve the trade area but do not require such a central location as the central business district. These businesses are found on the fringe of the central business district, along major streets and arteries, at crossroads and near wholesale or industrial areas.

13.52.020 Purpose

The general business district is designed and intended to promote the development of uses which require large concentrations of automobile traffic. The district is also designed to accommodate those commercial activities which may be incompatible with the uses permitted in the central business district, and whose service is not confined to any one neighborhood or community.

13.52.030 Special Requirements

  1. All business, servicing, or processing shall be conducted within completely enclosed buildings, with the following exceptions: In-vehicle sales and service and permanent outdoor display and sales as a primary use.
  2. The unenclosed parking of trucks as an accessory use, when used in the conduct of a permitted business in this district, shall be discouraged.

13.52.040 Site Performance Standards

  1. Minimum lot size: 5,000 square feet (0.11 acre).
  2. Minimum lot width: 50 feet.
  3. Minimum front yard: 20 feet.
  4. Minimum side yard: Ten feet.
  5. Minimum rear yard: 15 feet.
  6. Maximum building height: Three stories or 45 feet.

  10. Permanent outdoor display and sales as a primary or principal use.
  11. Indoor institutional.
  12. Public services and utilities.
  13. Transit stop.
  14. Personal or professional service.
  15. Outdoor commercial entertainment.
  16. Outdoor storage or wholesaling.
  17. Brewery or brew pub.
  18. Cannabis Retail Business

  10. Indoor storage or wholesaling.
  11. Commercial apartment.
  12. Group/multiple-family day care center.
  13. Light industrial incidental to indoor sales.
