CHAPTER 18

16 DISTRICTS AND ZONING MAP

18.16.010: DIVISION OF CITY INTO DESIGNATED DISTRICTS:

For purposes related to the orderly development of the city, and to carry out the provisions of this title, the city is divided into thirty two (32) land use districts and three (3) overlay districts, known as the following:

18.16.020: DISTRICT BOUNDARIES:

The districts listed in section 18.16.010 of this chapter, and the boundaries of such districts, are shown on the land use zoning map attached to the ordinance codified in this title and made an integral part of this title. All the notations, references and other information shown on the map shall be as much a part of this title as if the matters and information were fully described herein. (Ord. 1000 § 9.00, 1955)

18.16.030: PERMITTED USES; INTERPRETATION:

All districts established in this title shall be only for those uses prescribed in the sections dealing with such districts, and for such other uses as the commission may determine to be similar. (Ord. 1000 § 10.00, 1955)

18.16.040: USES PROHIBITED WHEN NOT DESIGNATED AS PERMITTED:

When a use is not specifically listed in the sections devoted to "permitted uses", it shall be assumed that such uses are expressly prohibited, unless by written decision of the commission it is determined that such use is similar to and not more objectionable than uses listed. (Ord. 1000 § 8.00, 1955)

18.16.050: ZONING FOR ANNEXED AREAS:

Any area annexed to the city after the effective date hereof shall automatically be placed in the A-1 (agricultural) district, and shall remain in that district until the land use zoning plan for the area has been adopted by the commission and council, unless the commission and council determine the precise zoning as a part of the annexation procedure. The commission shall recommend to the council appropriate districting of the land within ninety (90) days after an application for change has been filed with the commission.
