CHAPTER 18

17 - AGRICULTURAL AG DISTRICT

18.17.005 - Purposes.

These areas are ten acres or more in size and are primarily used for the keeping or maintenance of plants and/or animals useful to man, limited to: forages and sod crops; grains and seed crops; canines, dairy animals and dairy products, livestock, including beef cattle, sheep, llamas, horses, ponies, mules, and goats or any mutations or hybrids thereof. Such keeping or maintenance is limited to the breeding and natural grazing of any or all of such animals. Natural grazing shall be limited by the natural carrying capacity of the land. In addition bees and apiary products; trees and forest products; fruit, vegetables; nursery, floral, ornamental, and greenhouse products; or lands devoted to soil conservation or forestry management program are allowed. Also any ancillary use to the uses aforementioned, including but not limited to, veterinary clinics, kennels, farmers markets, and riding areas.

18.17.010 - Permitted uses.

Within the agricultural district, buildings, structures, and land may be used for any of the purposes designated under "AG" in the table of permitted uses for business, industrial and residential districts located in Section 18.09.090. (Ord. 881-2000 § 3)

18.17.020 - Conditional uses.

Within the agricultural district, the city council may authorize buildings, structures and land to be used for any of the purposes designated under "AG" in the table of permitted uses located in Section 18.09.090, and issue conditional use permits therefor in accordance with Chapter 18.57. (Ord. 881-2000 § 4)

18.17.030 - Height.

Maximum requirements in the "AG" district shall be:

Any main residential building hereafter erected or structurally altered shall not exceed thirty feet in height, twenty feet for any detached residential garage (private), and no accessory building or structure shall exceed thirty feet in height. (Ord. 881-2000 § 5)

18.17.040 - Setbacks.

Setbacks in the "AG" district shall be:

Front, Rear, Side. Twenty-five feet for any residential building or garage and one hundred feet for any accessory building or structure. (Ord. 881-2000 § 6; Ord. No. 1300-2017, § 1(Exh. A), 4-6-2017)

18.17.050 - Area requirements.

Area requirements in the "AG" district shall be:

A.

Ten to twenty acres, one residential dwelling unit as a permitted use, plus one as a conditional use.

B.

20.01 to thirty acres, one residential dwelling unit as a permitted use plus two as a conditional use.

C.

30.01 to thirty-five acres, two residential dwelling units as a permitted use plus one as a conditional use.

D.

Thirty-five acres or more, three residential dwelling units as a permitted use. (Ord. 881-2000 § 7)

18.17.060 - Frontage requirement.

There shall be no frontage requirements in the "AG" district. (Ord. 881-2000 § 8)

18.17.070 - Parking requirements.

Parking requirements in the "AG" district shall be as prescribed in Chapter 18.39 of this title. (Ord. 881-2000 § 9)

18.17.080 - Fencing and shrubbery.

Fencing and shrubbery requirements in the "AG" district shall be as prescribed in Chapter 18.42 of this title. (Ord. 881-2000 § 10)
