It shall be the intent of this zoning district to be reserved for development of low density residential uses only, which is intended to provide and encourage a stable, healthy environment for single-family dwellings situated on lots having an area of one acre (43,560 square feet) or more. The provisions which apply to this district are designed to discourage encroachment of development that may adversely affect the residential integrity and character of the district.
