Action by the City Council.
Within forty (40) days following receipt of the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission, the City Council shall hold at least one public hearing on the Text Amendment or Rezoning. Within twenty (20) days following the closing of a public hearing, the City Council shall make a specific finding as to whether the change is consistent with the objectives of this Ordinance and with the Comprehensive Plan. If the change is not consistent with the Comprehensive Land Use Plan, the Comprehensive Land Use Plan must be amended prior to a zoning change, as prescribed in section 5.300.If the City Council finds that the change is consistent with the Zoning Regulations and the Comprehensive Plan, it shall introduce an ordinance amending the Zoning Districts Map, whichever is appropriate.
